Job overview The Practice Development (PD) Team is central in our commitment to enhance the quality of the clinical learning environment and deliver meaningful, supportive learning and development opportunities within maternity services.The post holder will operationally and strategically manage Maternity's Practice Development Team and Maternity's education programme.They will lead on the educational provision of ongoing learning and development within maternity's clinical environments by ensuring the provision of high-quality learning opportunities and supportive educational input and professional development activities for learners and staff within maternity services.They will be responsible for the development and delivery of interprofessional learning opportunities and training programmes, ensuring a learning culture that promotes equality and values diversity.This role has been created to work in collaboration with the Midwifery Leadership Team to provide learning and development support to all maternity staff but especially those who are newly qualified or newly appointed staff.They will work collaboratively with the Midwifery Leadership Team to ensure learning and development within the service meet CQC standards, the MIS criteria, NMC codes of conduct and other relevant national and local guidance.
Main duties of the job · Work collaboratively with the Midwifery Leadership Team to ensure learning and development within the service are benchmarked against and meet CQC standards, the MIS criteria, NMC codes of conduct and other relevant national and local guidance.· With the Director of Midwifery, plan a schedule of education and training that is geared towards relevant aspects of service development.· Lead development and delivery of inter-professional learning and develop and nurture professional education programmes for the multidisciplinary team, aimed at encouraging 'life-long learning.· Lead on and co-ordinate the development and on-going training for newly qualified and newly appointed midwives and maternity support workers· Work with the Midwifery Leadership Team to develop and deliver high standards of women centred, evidence-based care· Participate in the planning and delivery of multi-professional education provision in the maternity department.
