Job summary To manage the team in the Sterile Services Department to ensure that team objectives are achieved.
To carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilization of reusable medical devices.
Record all tasks in the Healthcare Science Information Systems (tracking and tracing) database.
Work in accordance with the Departments Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
ISO13458:2016 and HTM01 01 guidance And to support the Assistant Manager in the day to day-operational control of floor management ensuring that items required are processed and despatched to users promptly in accordance with accepted standards and Trust and departmental policies.
Person Specification Education & Qualification Essential NVQ3 equivalent level of knowledge and training Training in specialist decontamination sciences or equivalent experience Full IDSc membership or willing to work towards it.
GSCE grade C or above in 3 subjects including Math's and English Desirable ISO Quality Internal Audit Certificate Experience & Knowledge Essential Experience in all sections of decontamination department Understands the concept and management of urgent/priority medical devices and non-conformances Experience of managing less experienced/qualified staff Experience using decontamination equipment Can demonstrate the ability to work to strict standards of quality and safety Good understanding of Health, Safety and Desirable Previously held supervisors post or worked at a senior level in decontamination.
Able to undertake Internal ISO Quality audits and write up findings SKills & Abilities Essential Ability to work as part of a team.
