Staff Nurse - Ward D1 Gastroenterology

FULL AND PART TIME HOURS AVAILABLE On Ward D1 you will work part of a multidisciplinary team made up of 8 Gastroenterology Consultants, a specialist dietician, and pharmacist.
We also have a team of nutrition nurse specialists who work closely with the gastroenterology team.
There is ward-based training and our clinical director of gastroenterology is supportive of SIMS training.

D1 is a 25 bedded acute ward.
Whilst the ward is fast-paced, we work as a team to provide a high standard of care to our patients.
We will offer a supportive induction to the ward and ensure all competencies and training are provided in order for you to be the best nurse you can be.

Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team in relation to patients' care and needs.
Provide feedback to the department from courses undertaken.
Responsibility for Patient Care Assess the individual's care needs, developing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to meet needs of patients and undertake all forms of care within the clinical environment.
Work in partnership with relatives and carers to develop and implement/improve standards of patient care.
Liaise with staff from multi-disciplines in matters relating to patient care and equipment relevant to nursing care.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation ensuring confidentiality.
Uphold the Trust's dignity and respect standards First Impressions.
Ensure that nursing care is appropriate, provided and is consistent with clinical guidelines.
Using professional judgement, analyse a range of patient conditions and act appropriately.
Maintain high standards of patient care by personal example and professional conduct.
Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy.
Planning and organising Responsible for prioritising own workload.
As Shift Leader, be responsible for discharge planning, liaising with Social Services and for organising safe and effective handover of patients.
Actively contribute and participate in the Trust's clinical governance agenda.

If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90.
This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.
In addition to this, it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
