Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join our new Hillside Secure Children's Home Inreach MDT as part of Swansea Bay CAMHS.
The Hillside MDT will be professionally led by a Consultant Psychologist and include AHP & Medicine provision alongside this Family Therapy position.
The expectation is that each child will have a formulation and treatment plan, and the team will work with Hillside staff to ensure plans are applied in practice in a trauma-informed way.
There will therefore be opportunity for direct and indirect working to ensure that staff are well supported and enabled to meet the needs of the children and families linked to Hillside.
The post holder will also have opportunity to deliver direct psychological interventions as per Matrics Plant.
Family therapists form a valued part of the Psychology and Psychological Therapy (P&PT) network.
The post holder will have the opportunity to work with fellow Family Therapists and other colleagues in the network and CAMHS team.
There is a supportive and expanding CAMHS team which consists of psychologists, art therapists, CBT therapists, a play therapist, assistant psychologists, mental health nurses and Psychiatrists.
The post holder will join this cohesive network of professionals and systemic thinkers affording opportunities for shared learning, CPD, reflective practice and support.
Main duties of the job The post holder will work within the MDT providing interventions and consultations into the Hillside Secure Children's Home, and will be managed and supported by the Consultant Psychology lead for the team.
Appropriate Clinical Supervision arrangements will be agreed with the successful candidate.
They will be expected to provide clinical leadership in relation to Systemic Psychotherapy practice, and to work alongside children, families, Hillside Staff and the MDT to feed into care and treatment plans.
They will be expected to deliver evidence based psychological interventions as part of the overall care and treatment plan.
This post will provide the opportunity for direct and indirect clinical work, offering interventions to children, young people, their families and networks.
They will be expected to partner with Hillside staff and the MDT to ensure that the care plans are applied in practice and that staff are robustly supported and enabled to meet the children and young people's needs to the best of their ability and manage the emotional context in which they work.
The postholder will have opportunities to contribute to the ongoing development of systemic practice in hillside, helping to ascertain the nature and quality of the provision to help inform continued service improvement.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
About us The Neath Port Talbot Local Authority commissioned service, provided by Swansea Bay UHB Mental Health Division, will provide a mental health in-reach service within the Hillside Secure Children's Home to meet the needs of the children and young people it serves.
The multi-disciplinary, psychology-led service will work across-agencies in collaboration with the Hillside management and staff to provide quality mental health support operating on a Monday to Friday basis, between 09:00 to 17:00 throughout the year, excluding bank holidays.
