Main duties of the job An opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and friendly team as a Band 6 Specialist Audiologist.
This is a varied role performing hearing assessment for both children and adults and hearing aid clinics for children.
We pride ourselves in providing a quality, forward thinking service and are looking for someone with an enthusiasm for service improvement.The role would suit someone looking to further develop their specialist skills in paediatric audiology in a friendly and supportive environment.
Along with the clinical duties the role will also allow you to get involved with work relating service development and quality assurance.

Job description Job responsibilities Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification for full details of the role and responsibilities.
The role will involve undertaking diagnostic and rehabilitative test procedures on both adults and children and to provide scientific support to the Audiology and Hearing Therapy Department in developing services.
Providing support to ENT clinics at base location and satellite clinics.
Contributing to other areas of audiology service provision, including audit and service evaluation, and taking a lead role in a core governance function within the service such as health and safety, infection control, safeguarding or other as required.
Some experience working in paediatric audiology clinics is essential, so too is the ability to travel between different clinic sites.
We work extended hours, with full-time staff typically working 4 days a week 8-6pm.
Person Specification Trust Values Essential Patients First Always Improving Working Together Skills and competencies Essential Communication Time management Report writing Teamwork Qualifications, knowledge and experience Essential BSc Hons Audiology or equivalent qualification Clinical training in diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures relevant to the role Holder of relevant UK State Registration in Audiology OR able to demonstrate eligibility and in process of applyingExperience assisting in vestibular clinics Significant clinical experience (which could include the Scientist Training Programme) Experience of independently performing audiometry and tympanometry for an ENT clinic Experience in programming hearing aids and verification with real ear measurements Experience working in paediatric audiology clinics Evidence of continuous personal and professional development Desirable British Academy of Audiology Higher Training Scheme modules in Paediatric Audiology (6 months+) and Paediatric Habilitation Experience working in an acute hospital Experience assisting in vestibular clinics Participation in service improvement, development activities and audit/surveys Experience of Phonak and Oticon hearing aids Familiarity with Auditbase
