Job Title: 1:1 Alternative Provision Instructor Support Worker

Location: Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall

Salary: £20,906.25 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Fixed Term - 12 Months Contract, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a 1:1
Alternative Provision Instructor Support Worker to join our close-knit team
at Belmont Secondary School located in Rawtenstall.

About the role

Under the direction of the Head Teacher, SENCo and Alternative Provision Lead,
carry out the professional duties of a 1:1 Instructor by supporting the
designated pupil in educational activities with outside agencies and
Coordinating and implementing other activities and lessons as applicable to
raise attainment for the pupil with specific barriers to learning, raising
attainment to ensure the pupil makes the required progress.

Primary Responsibilities:

* In partnership with the Alternative Provision Lead ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum that is appropriate for the pupil you are supporting that meets his needs and interests.

* To contribute to raising the standards and attainment for the individual pupil you support whilst providing appropriate activities to promote a positive confidence in pupil's own ability.

* To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides the student you support with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

* Work with the pupil you support on a 1:1basis to improve their numeracy and literacy skills, and complete the relevant assessments to show the relevant progress being made.

* Help deliver the entry level, functional skills, AQA unit awards scheme and GCSE courses offered at the school and assist with ensuring all applicable paperwork is completed, liaise with exams officer to ensure the pupil you support is entered for examinations under direction of the teaching staff or SMTSLT.

* Assist with departmental data assessment entry and progression tracking and use this data to identify pupil needs and where targeted support is most needed.

* Liaise with relevant staff andor SMTSLT to help facilitate learning through assisting with procurement of resources, planning and implementation of lessons and assist with work scrutiny and marking for the pupil you are supporting.

* Ensure the provisions used hold the relevant health and safety procedures in place, all the relevant risk assessments are completed and the procedures and implementation of learning is up to date with latest curriculum developments and best pedagogical practice.

* Comply with all wider school policies relating to safeguarding of pupils and professional conduct.

* In the absence of the student you will be required to attend the school and support in the relevant areas required.
This role will be predominantly as a Support Worker but could include other roles such as admin or pastoral support.

* To work closely with the Alternative Provision Lead and Assistant Head Teacher to ensure all the relevant checks and risk assessments are completed for all Educational Visits involving the pupil you support.

* To play a proactive part in ensuring that all activities in place are relevant and suited to the pupils needs.
