The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting our Head Chef Jim Miles in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and hygiene, combining the use of local produce into our great value menu.
This position requires a strong background in hospitality and culinary skills, along with excellent team working skills to help create a positive and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities - Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
- Own food preparation and production, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen processes.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef team to develop our innovative menu that reflect current trends and local ingredients - Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order, first class hygiene and resolve any issues promptly.
- Help create a positive dining experience by ensuring timely food service and addressing any guest concerns related to food quality.
Experience - Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and production processes.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is required.
- Supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
