An independently owned establishment, you will be joining a welcoming team, with a fun but dedicated and hard working team.Located in a picturesque village on the outskirts of Axminster, this establishment is well known for its classic gastro dishes, use of local ingredients producing culinary delights!The successful sous chef will join part of a brigade looking to expand and grow it's already impressive local reputation, and will be working closely with the current Head Chef, whilst also assisting other members of the chef brigade.Sous Chef Responsibilities will include; Assist the Head Chef in managing the smooth operation of kitchen operations, including food prep and presentation.Help maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.Ensure that all dishes are presented to the highest quality.Supervising and mentoring junior chef's within the brigade.Monitoring portion and waste control.Assist the head chef with stock management and ordering.Assisting the head chef with menu development.
