We are seeking a dedicated Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Oncology & Medical Ward at The Wellington Hospital. This role is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while advancing your nursing career in a prestigious and supportive environment.
As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a critical role in leading a nursing team within a 17-bed Oncology & Medical unit and two Neuroendocrine suites, providing exemplary care to oncology and medical patients. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver expert support throughout patients' care journeys, while fostering an environment of continuous professional development and high-quality individualized care.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Leadership: Ensure the highest standards of care in the clinical environment, supporting the team in delivering patient-focused services.Team Management: Directly manage a team of 6 nurses and 2 healthcare assistants, ensuring effective team collaboration and performance.Specialist Care: Provide advanced nursing advice and facilitate comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.Professional Development: Supervise, mentor, and provide learning opportunities for junior staff members. Conduct performance appraisals and support team development.Quality Improvement: Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvements to enhance patient experiences.Collaboration: Work closely with the Ward Manager and deputize in their absence, ensuring continuity of care and service delivery.Patient & Family Support: Engage with patients, families, and carers, ensuring compassionate and informed support throughout their journey.What you'll bring: NMC Registered NurseRelevant post registration experience in OncologyProven ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a team, ensuring their professional development and performance.Up to date knowledge and experience on the administration of the SACTWhy HCA UK?
