Channel 5 Creative is a fast-moving department with a high turnover of short-form work.
The department is responsible for creative output ranging from on-air promos, social campaigns, OOH, print and brand development.
We deliver high-profile multiplatform marketing campaigns for show launches and Brand campaigns.
This is a demanding role in a fast-paced and complex environment which requires a high level of organisation and project management together with a positive and analytical approach to ensure the creative demands across the entire business are met and delivered with creative excellence.
You will report into - and work closely with - the Senior Director of Production to contribute to the smooth running of all projects and workflows across the department.
You will help to establish processes and workflows for multi-platform asset management and new areas of the business, overseeing and managing all areas of allocated production.
You will be the key production contact for the wider business, building relationships with the new Growth Marketing Team, the social team and the brand and title marketing teams.
What will you be doing?
You'll be responsible for helping to create "best in class" creative work, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and multiplatform asset delivery for campaigns promoting our streaming service and linear channels.
You will ensure all colleagues are clear on their roles and responsibilities within the process.
Responsibility for the management of creative workflow and allocation within Channel 5 business.
Running and filtering all creative requirements to ensure timely and high-level production aligned with business priorities: Assigning production and project management resource to all workload Team up with Director of Production to allocate and produce makelists for assigned campaigns or areas of business.
Liaise with key partners ensuring accurate briefing of all projects Ensure all projects delivered on brand and budget and within timeframe Responsible for managing any last-minute schedule change impacts within available resource, ensuring we work to, and deliver, a flexible and reactive workflow Recruit & source freelance production teams where necessary Responsibility for overseeing 5 Production for owned inventory, off-air integrated marketing campaigns, channel branding (and rebrands as needed), domestic and international shoots (if required), external agencies, freelancers, talent and all other production requirements; including: Oversee junior production team and all production processes Implementing systems to ensure most efficient cross-brand workflow Oversee location, studio, talent access shoots if required Oversee project management of creative content Oversee post-production bookings and clearcast / CAP delivery processes, on-air delivery and off-air delivery as needed Manage external design / production agencies where applicable and ensure accurate and on-time delivery of creative Responsible for close collaboration and communication with wider 5 teams across the business teams Key liaison point for production needs for 5 Streaming service; Brand & Title Marketing; Growth Marketing; Social.
Ensure all workflow allocations align with business goals Responsible for allocation of workload across the teams Oversee and monitor assigned areas of budget and work with Director of Production on forecasting and phasing Responsible for content trafficking and ensuring assets reach all touchpoints on time Line Management of production team: Oversee personal development and training of team alongside Director of Production Ensure pastoral care for colleagues in department Recruit new, exciting and creatively capable individuals to any open positions and freelance opportunities Budget responsibility including input on forecasting, phasing, monitoring and reporting, including: Ensuring all spend aligns with business and marketing objectives Prepare cost estimates for new projects and campaigns as required Allocating, phasing and reporting annual spend for production requirements Negotiating all costs to ensure budgets are made the most of Responsible for freelance cost control Legal responsibility for Channel 5 production output: Ensure all freelancer and external providers are contracted within Paramount guidelines Liaison with compliance as necessary Liaise with the legal, HR and finance departments for all contracts, NDA's, vendor selection, capex, payments, and implement new company policies effectively into the daily work routine e.g.
freelancer employment guidelines, expenses and T&E, v/o contract negotiations, be aware of changes to accounts payable processes.
Comprehensive knowledge around licensing of artistic material and artists rights across all formats Liaise with legal department to ensure all rights are secured in advance of any content TX Ensure music licensing secured for UK output (and beyond, as required).
Responsibility for Production of shoots within the department: Liaise with programme production teams as needed for them to capture relevant marketing assets - photography and film.
Project manage productions of on-air and off-air assets and oversee organisation for extensive promo and print shoot campaigns - with support provided by Production Coordinator and Production Assistant as required.
Extensive knowledge of both shoot and post-production technologies and advise team on best use for creative execution.
Attend recces and shoots as needed Ensure all shoot-based activity adheres to health and safety and full risk assessed.
Oversee contracts, negotiations and legal issues What are we looking for?
Experience in managing multiplatform asset delivery and complex integrated cross-media campaigns Experience in launching/promoting streaming service desired.
Extensive experience of project management, production processes and delivery of campaigns across all media formats Experience in managing production staff in a multi-discipline creative environment Experience in budget management Extensive knowledge of post-production and design workflows Accomplished in working with multiple partners Experience of both content compliance and business legal processes Experience in all aspects of shoot production The ability to identify and resolve issues, prioritise and manage risk Highly adaptable with a "can do" attitude Solution focused Excellent attention to detail Accomplished negotiation skills Strong communications and relationship management skills Passionate about creative and content a wealth of experience in production and management of multiplatform assets.
Knowledge of how to run teams in busy multi-discipline creative departments within a broadcast, streaming or social environment; comfortable managing complex production workflows and ensuring all creative content is delivered on brand, on budget and to time across all touchpoints.
Clear communicator who is calm under pressure and is experienced in dealing with multiple high-level collaborators.
