Main duties of the job We are looking for a friendly and hardworking individual to join our busy Homecare team as a Senior Pharmacy Support Worker within University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).
Homecare is a service that involves arranging medication and treatments to over 8500 patients in their home via 12 different Homecare are a small but expanding team of 14 staff consisting of 2 Pharmacy Technicians, 8 Senior Pharmacy Support Workers, and 4 Pharmacy Support Workers.
The department operates Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 17:30.

Job description Job responsibilities This role is office based and involves raising purchase orders against Homecare prescriptions, receipting goods onto our system & also processing invoices for payment through our JAC computer system.
Other duties include looking after homecare provider statements & co-ordinating the daily emails & queries.
You will also be responsible for supervising & organising the team of pharmacy support workers The ideal candidate will have: -IT experience-suitable supervisory & organisational skills-show attention to detail-excellent written and verbal communication-ability to prioritise workload-ability to work independently Person Specification Qualifications / training required Essential NVQ 2 in Pharmacy or other Level 2 approved GPhC qualification for pharmacy support staff or equivalent experience Supervisory qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience of supervision Desirable 2 GCSE's or equivalent grades A* - C or 4-9 in English and Maths (If qualifications gained outside the UK evidence of equivalent standards must be demonstrated at interview) Other healthcare qualifications GCSEs in science-based or other role specific relevant subjects Supervisory qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience of supervision Essential Use of information technology in the workplace or within education or voluntary sector Standard keyboard skills Previous pharmacy experience (hospital or community) or supervisory experience Desirable Previous experience in health or social care (if not pharmacy) Experience in stock control , receiving, maintaining and / or issuing stock Clinical trials or research experience (Clinical trials only) Use of till and / or handling money in a work environment (RSH posts only) Aptitudes and skills required Essential Customer service skills in the workplace or voluntary sector Communicate effectively with others in English both in speaking and writing Able to demonstrate ability to pass Numeracy test at interview Ability to follow procedures Attention to detail and accurate working Able to work independently and prioritise work.
