Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Stroke Occupational Therapy Team at Cambridge University Hospitals.In this role, you will work autonomously and without direct supervision to provide the safe, effective and efficient provision of occupational therapy intervention to patients in the Acute Stroke and Rehab Ward.As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with other professions to ensure the facilitation of appropriate and timely discharges from the acute hospital.Opportunities for supervision, stroke education, departmental education, service improvements and research are available, alongside your own clinical and leadership development to progress in your career.
Main duties of the job To provide acute and specialist Level 2b stroke rehabilitation to patients on your caseload.To support and work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure delivery of the highest possible standard of service.To actively participate in the training and development of junior staff members, Therapy Assistants and Apprentices.To lead on service development projects.To support the Team Leader in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Occupational Therapy Service on a day-to-day basis.To be an integral part of the stroke multidisciplinary team in your working area including Consultants, Nurses, speech and language therapists and Physiotherapists.To have a keen interest in stroke research.
