Job summary We are recruiting for a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.You will be undertaking high quality occupational health assessments and offering expert occupational health advice.You will support colleagues within the team to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence.
Involvement in the review of procedures that enable improvements in quality, efficiency, and customer service and support the growth of occupational health and wellbeing services.You will have involvement in training and development on health and wellbeing issues.At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve.

Main duties of the job Use of specialist knowledge to undertake high quality occupational health assessments in face-to-face clinics, by video and telephone.To undertake assessments autonomously seeking support and guidance where appropriate in relation to complex issues.Maintain confidential, clear, accurate, electronic records of consultations in accordance with national and local guidelines and legislation.Safeguard confidentiality in accordance with legislation and guidelines.Provision of clear, impartial occupational health advice to managers and employees in written reports, on a telephone advice line and in case review meetings.
Advice may include fitness for a new role, workplace adjustments, redeployment, approaches to prevent sickness absence, rehabilitation and return to work planning, suitable actions following a sharps incident or other workplace injury, health surveillance, reducing risk of injury or occupational disease, and suitability for ill health retirement.Plan and deliver training and coaching in promoting health and wellbeing, preventing, and reducing sickness absence.

Person Specification Qualifications/ Training Essential Registered Adult Nurse, on part 1 of the NMC register Diploma/ Degree in Occupational Health.
Evidence of Professional development Desirable Teaching and Assessing Qualification Health & Safety training Previous Experience Essential Undertaking occupational health assessments and providing advice Clear accurate record keeping Supervising,supporting and leading others Training, coaching or developing others Promoting health and wellbeing Confident use of electronic record keeping, emails, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point and Teams Desirable Delivering immunisations Use of Cority Software Skills Essential Excellent communication Customer service Leadership Expert Occupational Health assessment and report writing Teaching, coaching and delivering presentations clearly and confidently Confident in electronic record keeping Ability to travel to clinics and external contracts work sites Ability to adapt to change & have a flexible approach Desirable Health Surveillance Venepuncture Knowledge Essential Excellent understanding of a wide range of workplace health and wellbeing issues Specialist knowledge of potential workplace hazards, safe systems of work and health surveillance.
Expert understanding of legislation and regulations relating to Occupational health Experience and evidence of engagement around equality, diversity, and inclusion issues in relation to policy, service development and service delivery in respect of both services to users and the management of staff Role model our Trust values every day Desirable Knowledge and understanding income generation and service level agreements
