A leading Private Fertility Clinic with multiple locations across the UK are looking to recruit aSenior Fertility Nurse -London/Hertfordshire Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.
Salary- CompetitiveBased -London or Hertfordshire Responsibilities To practice in accordance with the current NMC Code of Conduct.
Ensure patients safety and well-being at all times whilst they are under their care and to ensure that no harm is done through an act of omission Possess a working knowledge of their patients drug regimes and treatment plans and prescribing medications when needed to ensure patient health and well-being.
Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs of individual patients undergoing treatments in their care.
To provide information to all patients prior to treatment and through ongoing care in order to aid informed consent.
To ensure access to a Fertility Counsellor as required.
To perform ultrasoundscanning of all fertility patients including diagnostic scans and administration of drugs relevant to patients treatment (in line with current NMC guidelines), teaching patients to self-administer where relevant and appropriate.
Assist in clinical proceduressuch as Oocyte retrievals, Embryo transfers, IUI, Hycosy, Endometrial scratch/biopsy Provide Phlebotomy services for collection of specimens, labelling and despatching to the outside laboratory as per current Clinic SOPs.
Provide training to junior nursing staff to facilitate their skills development in fertility services, treatment planning and ultrasonography To contemporaneously ensure all offered treatment, advice, treatment cycles and outcomes are recorded (in electronic or hard copy) in line with current HFEA guidelines and requirements and SOPs.
To participate in a weekend and out of hours roster.
To oversee smooth running of all nursing duties in the absence of Nurse Manager Job knowledge Relevant JDH forms, SOPs and information, HFEA Code of Practice 9th Edition.
To be aware of and implement the ambassadorial aspect of the post.
Computer literate in the relevant database(s) e.g.
IDEAS/ enquiry tracker/ iMatch.
Core knowledge Emergency situation SOPs.
Confidentiality requirements.
Human Resources requirements.
Health and Safety procedures, including Manual Handling, Fire and Infection Control.
Competent in Intermediate Life Support (ILS).
Quality Management System requirements.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages e.g.
Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer.
