Job Title: Senior Design & Technical EngineerLocation: Bolton – BL2 0ANSalary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum (dependant on experience)Job Type: Full time, PermanentWorking Hours: Mon – Thurs 07:30 to 16:00/Fri 07:30 to 12:50 (38 hours)About The Company:As one of the UK's leading heating element manufacturers, Heatrod offer a wide range of products from standard straight elements through to customer bespoke equipment.

The engineering team are at the forefront of the business in defining initial concepts with our customers and then using standard tools and processes in developing those concepts into usable products and bespoke engineered solutions.We are now looking to expand our Engineering capabilities in house and so are looking for an experienced Engineer to expand our remit/ability to support our growing range of customers.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small engineering team, supporting our onsite production team and external sales team.Purpose of Role:Reporting to the Engineering & Technical Manager, this role will be a senior level role within the engineering team responsible for designing and specifying products that meet the needs of our wide range of customers and supporting the development of the wider engineering team.Working closely and providing key information to the production team; technical and costing support to the sales team, working with colleagues across our and the and global group business in following new product development processes will be core to the role.Main duties Provide technical & design engineering support to SalesCalculate direct cost of manufactured products ready for quotingCreate manufacturing drawings in SolidWorksUpdate and produce manufacturing data, BOM's & routes ready for production planningMaintain records of drawings, documents & key paperworkNew product development and assisting these into production along with SOP'sAligning and following standard NPD processes across group businessesIdentify potential suppliers of new parts & materialsWork closely with production engineering, quality & production to maximise efficiencyUndertake project work to drive continual improvement through the businessLiaising with customers on new and existing products About you:Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineProficiency in design software such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, and/or other similar toolsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailProject Management experience, experience of working on multiple projects (great at multi-tasking)Very well organised and able to work autonomouslyAbility to work on-site in Bolton, 5 days a weekStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a teamExperience in the heating element industry would be an advantage What we can offer you: 25 days holiday, increases with length of serviceCash Health Plan/Discount SchemeFree onsite parkingGreat company social eventsCycle to Work SchemePension SchemeTraining and Development Opportunities, both internally/externally to the businessBespoke career progression through the business Please Note:No agencies.Please click the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the experience or relevant job titles of; Design Technician, Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Project Mechanical Design Engineer, Project Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, SolidWorks Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Technician, Designer, CAD Technician, CAD, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Design Technician, 2D CAD, CAD Operator, CAD Designer, CAD Design, Draughtsperson, Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, Technical Coordinator, Technical Designer, Technical Engineer may also be considered for this role.
