We're looking for a committed Senior Design Manager to join a leading residential contractor, overseeing essential upgrades across high-risk residential projects.
With a robust five-year project pipeline and an expanding design team, this role offers an exciting chance to make a meaningful impact on building safety.
The Role: As the Senior Design Manager, you will spearhead complex, safety-focused projects aimed at enhancing residential buildings through re-cladding, fire remediation, and other essential design upgrades.
This role requires close collaboration with clients and regulatory authorities, making strong interpersonal skills a must.
The position is perfect for someone with practical experience in the Gateway 2 process, Golden Thread principles, and the latest building safety regulations, particularly those affecting high-risk buildings.
Key Responsibilities: Leading design strategies for multiple projects, ensuring full compliance with current safety regulations.
Managing design coordination with contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies to maintain project integrity and timelines.
Developing and overseeing fire remediation plans, re-cladding efforts, and additional safety-focused redesigns.
Preparing and managing the Golden Thread of information for project compliance and Gateway 2 documentation.
Engaging with stakeholders, including clients and safety assessors, to communicate design and compliance requirements.
What We're Looking For: Proven experience with a main contractor, residential developer, housing association, or consultancy, ideally within high-rise or high-risk residential projects.
Comprehensive knowledge of building safety regulations, with practical experience implementing Gateway 2, the Golden Thread, and other safety standards.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client-facing responsibilities and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
Experience with legacy project upgrades is a plus, as is a background in design and safety remediations, particularly re-cladding and fire safety.
