Job summary The Imaging Department at SWB NHS Trust is currently looking to recruit Band 6 Cross-Sectional Radiographers.

Cross site we have four Sola MRI scanners, as well as a Siemens Flash, AS, Drive, Xcite and Edge CT scanners.The Imaging Department at SWB NHS Trust is experiencing an exciting period of transformation.
With over £1 million investment in Imaging Services we are leading the way in response times for patient x-rays and scan meaning access to faster treatment for patients.
Main duties of the job As a member of the cross-sectional team you will work across all 3 hospital sites, and be expected to rotate through both MRI and CT.
If the successful candidate is only currently trained in one modality, they will be expected to train in the other modality once in post.
The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the out of hours Rota, which will include working night shifts.Role extension is actively encouraged within SWBH together with both personal and professional development.
Staff progression includes Advanced Practice and Reporting rolesWe provide Imaging across a 7 day service at the City health Campus, Sandwell Health Campus and Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, our new acute hospital, which opened its doors on the 6th October 2024.

Person Specification Experience Essential Proven experience at Senior Radiographer Grade Proven experience in MRI or CT Evidence of current Continuing Professional Development to Health Professions Council (HPC) standard Must be willing to undertake Post Grad level study Desirable Able to undertake audit Proven Experience in Both MRI and CT Qualifications Essential Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc(Hons) Radiography Current HPC Registration Knowledge Essential Must have practical skills within MRI Imaging that is underpinned by theoretical training Must be able to undertake Quality Assurance checks of equipment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as appropriate Must have a working knowledge of IR(ME)R Regulations, Health & Safety and Confidentiality of Information Must have a working knowledge of electronic Patient Management and Radiology Information systems Communication Essential Must communicate complex information such as when discussing allergies, MRI safety prior to undertaking CT or MRI Expected to discuss sensitive information pregnancy related issues, with patients Expected to undertake scans on patients with learning difficulties Must possess good verbal English Able to communicate by face-to-face contact, telephone and e-mail Desirable Able to undertake verbal communication in languages other than English
