POSITION SUMMARY A Senior Business Analyst works with the Product Owner on a Squad, or may work directly with the business as a Proxy Product Owner, to specify requirements, gather information from the business and clarify any ambiguities in requirements.
They interact extensively with the development team to build a shared understanding and help to upskill other members of the team.
Core Responsibilities Have a deep knowledge of business domain and internal systems.
Be fully aware of internal and external business life cycles.
Use best practices and knowledge of internal and external business issues to improve products and processes.
May lead projects or phases with a broader project and be accountable for ongoing activities and objectives.
Help drive direction of business systems by solving complex problems and taking new perspectives on existing solutions.
Assist in mentoring/training junior staff and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Gather requirements from diverse sets of stakeholders, building consensus around priorities.
Adapt latest best practice BA thinking as a basis for Share Data processes.
Work on complex system changes and functionality, including resolving complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist.
Work closely with squads, including product management, ownership, engineering, and 3rd party software suppliers.
Work independently, or with guidance in complex situations.
Possess strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to tailor messaging appropriately to different audiences.
Ensure all changes/processes/systems are fully documented for both Business and IT.
Understand business processes and collaborate with business users, stakeholders, management, and other staff to determine business needs and drive consensus on requirements and priorities.
Essential Skills 5 years business analyst or equivalent related experience, such as software development, required.
Experience in Reinsurance/Insurance companies for Operations and Claims, ideally Transformation projects.
Qualification in Business, or a technical/scientific area such as Mathematics, Software Development, Science or Engineering.
Have a deep knowledge of business analysis.
