About the Role: As a SEN Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with diverse needs, providing tailored assistance that promotes their learning and personal development.
Your expertise will help create an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to achieve their best.
Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN ), adapting to their unique learning styles and needs in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Implement positive behaviour strategies to encourage constructive interactions, manage challenges, and support emotional well-being.
Assist in adapting classroom activities and materials to ensure they are accessible and engaging, supporting students' understanding and participation.
Work with students to build social skills, independence, and confidence through structured activities and positive reinforcement.
Partner with teachers, therapists, and families to develop and implement holistic support plans, ensuring a cohesive approach to each student's growth.
Monitor and record student progress, updating support plans as needed to best meet learning and personal development goals.
Requirements: Prior experience working with individuals with special educational needs (SEN) in educational or care settings is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with a caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
Ability to implement positive behaviour management techniques, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
Willingness to adapt tasks and approaches to meet the unique needs of each student.
SEN-related qualifications , certifications, or specialised training are beneficial but not essential if experience is sufficient.
To work with GSL Education, you will need: Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
