Job Title: Science Teacher / Tutor Location: Towcester, Silverstone Start Date: January 2025 (or sooner) Salary: £25,410 - £39,300 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus SEN allowance and additional benefits A highly reputable, independent SEN secondary school located near Towcester and Silverstone is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher or Tutor to join their permanent team from January 2025, or earlier if possible.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing and supportive environment, delivering high-quality science education to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and tailored Science lessons to secondary-aged students with SEN. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
Work collaboratively with other staff members, including SEN specialists, to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and confidence.
Support students in both their academic and personal development, promoting a growth mindset and a love for learning.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events as required.
Candidate Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification is essential.
Previous experience teaching Science at the secondary level, preferably within an SEN setting.
Strong understanding of a range of SEN needs and a commitment to inclusive education.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with students who may require additional support.
Ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a positive learning environment.
A proactive attitude and a desire to contribute to the wider school community.
