Full time, temp to perm contract Special secondary school SEMH and ASD students Teaching up to GCSE January 2025 start I am working on behalf of a special secondary school in Exeter that are looking for a qualified teacher to join them in January, teaching science to students aged 11 - 16 with a variety of special needs, mainly associated with social, emotional and mental health challenges.
The school can be a challenging environment to work in due to the needs of the students, but it is also incredibly rewarding.

About the role: This role requires you to teach science predominantly at KS3 level but you must be able to teach up to GCSE.
Experience in teaching science is essential as you will be expected to plan and deliver your own lessons, alongside marking students' work and assessing progress. Due to the needs of the students, you must be calm and confident in dealing with challenging behaviour, possess a lot of resilience and have a naturally calming demeanour.
You will also be supported by fantastic learning support assistants within the classroom.
