Science Technician Vacancy - Secondary School in Heywood (Rochdale) We are looking for a skilled and experienced Science Technician to join our secondary school in Heywood, Rochdale.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and a commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of science lessons.
Position: Science Technician Location: Heywood, Rochdale Hours: Monday to Friday Salary: Up to £110 per day Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent placement for the right candidateKey Responsibilities: Prepare, organize, and maintain equipment and materials for science lessons Support science teachers during practical sessions and experiments Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, including compliance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations Maintain and clean laboratory spaces, ensuring they meet safety standards Assist with stock management, including ordering and organizing resources Support students during practical lessons, providing guidance when neededThe Ideal Candidate: Previous experience working as a Science Technician, preferably in a secondary school setting Full understanding and practical application of COSHH regulations Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a teamIf you are passionate about supporting students and teachers in a laboratory environment and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we would love to hear from you!
