Job Title: School Business Manager Location: Derby, UK Overview: We are seeking a School Business Manager to join a new special educational needs school in Derby, opening in 2025.
This is a full-time, permanent role requiring 40 hours per week, year-round.
Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) The school will cater to 72 students aged 5-19 with a primary diagnosis of ASC/ADHD.

Key Responsibilities: As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will: Lead and manage support services, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment within budget.
Take responsibility for delegated budgets and resources, acting with a high degree of autonomy.
Create, implement, monitor, and evaluate development plans for continuous improvement in your areas of responsibility.
Play a central role in the recruitment and development of an effective team to ensure the success of the new school.
Oversee the schools compliance with regulations and standards, including safeguarding, health and safety, and financial management.
Skills and Qualifications: Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate: A management or professional qualification relevant to the role, such as a Management Diploma or Finance qualification (desirable).
Knowledge of relevant education regulations and standards.
Familiarity with current inspection frameworks used by statutory bodies.
Experience in safeguarding and legislative procedures for working with children and young people.
Expertise in managing EBITDA, financial systems, processes, and budget preparation.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a range of stakeholders.
Proven ability to form positive relationships with young people, staff, parents, and external agencies.
Leadership skills, with the ability to define and achieve high standards.
Problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment in decision-making.
