Prison Healthcare GPs play a crucial clinical leadership role in our prison primary healthcare teams.
Previous experience of working in a jail is desirable but not essential, as full induction and training will be provided.
There is round-the-clock access to experienced clinical supervision for new doctors who join our teams.

Line managed and supported by a Regional Lead GP, you will have access to continuing professional development in support of appraisal and revalidation through our GP forum.

Substance Misuse You may already have a special interest in substance misuse; if not, we will invest in you to help you attain the expertise and confidence, backed up by national accreditation to deliver a substance misuse extended role.
Alternatively, you may have an interest in research or medical education, where we can link you to opportunities through our Research and Medical Education departments.
