Description Job Title: Safeguarding Officer Salary : £25,271 - £27,504 We are seeking a Safeguarding Officer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and the wider community.
You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to promote a culture of safeguarding and protect vulnerable individuals from harm.

Key Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures in line with national guidelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate measures are in place to mitigate risks.
- Provide training and support for staff on safeguarding practices and child protection.
- Act as the primary point of contact for safeguarding concerns and allegations, ensuring all inquiries are handled sensitively and confidentially.
- Collaborate with external agencies, including law enforcement and social services, to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of safeguarding incidents and outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with current safeguarding legislation and best practices.
Essential Criteria LSCB Working Together to Safeguard Children training or equivalent.
Level 2 qualifications in Maths & English Experience in Health/ Secondary/ Further Education/ Community & Youth setting, working with at risk young people and vulnerable adults Experience of working with multi-agency groups to support students at risk of dropping out of learning Knowledge and understanding of the current trends and issues in safeguarding and their impact on the FE sector Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure prioritising own work to achieve agreed objectives Proficient in the use of Office packages Ability to attend and represent the college at various customer focused events Excellent oral communication and inter-personal skills in order to work effectively and engage a range of audiences.
Ability to use own initiative to respond to a wide variety of challenges, providing customer focussed solutions.
