Job summary Radiology Medical Support Secretary - Band 3 - hours (Part time, job share and flexible working will be considered) The Radiology Department are looking to add to our secretarial team, and are looking for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual to provide support to our Radiologists, Junior Doctors and Radiographers.
You will need excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work well within a team, handling many demands at a high pace.
A candidate with previous secretarial experience is desired, however full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job Work autonomously to provide medical secretarial support to Consultant and department, including word processing, audio typing, dealing with incoming and out going mail, filing and photocopying and effectively interfacing with patient, professionals and other agencies.
Ensure an efficient service is provided in accordance with national and local access deadlines and targets.

Person Specification QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING Essential GCSE's or equivalent qualification or experience Desirable Medical Terminology qualification or equivalent level of working experience with medical terminology Audio-typing qualification or equivalent level of working experience with medical terminology Customer Care KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills Understanding of secretarial/clerical processes Efficient and accurate word processing skills Knowledge of functionality of Patient Administration System Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations and patient confidentiality Desirable Trust experience Experience in a clinical setting Knowledge of hospital patient administration system Knowledge of medical terminology EXPERIENCE Essential Use of Office and Outlook, including word, excel and powerpoint, e-mail and internet Desirable Healthcare / NHS Trust experience Previous experience working within a team Secretarial and administrative experience
