Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Underwriter, Construction Casualty to join our Energy & Construction Casualty team in London.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this role include contributions towards the growth and build-out of our Energy & Construction Casualty business across all relevant distribution channels, pre-qualifying accounts, utilizing underwriting acumen to select risks within the company's risk appetite and expanding and developing new business opportunities with brokers and customers in both the UK and Internationally.

You should be comfortable working closely with actuaries, the claims team, and underwriters from across the broader team.
In addition, necessary character, relationship building and negotiating skills to help lead and further build a profitable book of business are of the upmost importance.
This position is a great fit for a Senior Casualty Underwriter looking to expand their responsibilities and underwriting knowledge with an experienced and well-regarded unit within a top global insurance company.

Underwrite Primary and Excess accounts while ensuring appropriate analysis and documentation without sacrificing discipline, diligence, and quality service.
Accounts will be both UK and Internationally domiciled.
Work in a customer facing environment with a high focus on long term relationships.
Experience in London market and strong understanding of London market coverage, policy wording and broker manuscripts.
~ Willing to travel on business as required.
