Job Title: Project Engineer / Lead Project Engineer Location: Swindon, UK Job Type:12 Months Work Type: Hybrid Job Description Client is seeking Project Engineers and Senior/Lead Project Engineers to join the Hydrogen Technologies division.
In this role, you will either manage full-cycle projects or oversee specific elements of larger projects.
Projects encompass the design, engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of site infrastructure and process equipment, helping Client to innovate, meet legislative standards, and pursue its growth ambitions.
You will be based in Swindon, the home site for the Hydrogen Technologies business.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee Capital Projects from front-end design to commissioning, ensuring stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle. Manage project aspects including budget, schedule, scope, and risk; participate in design reviews; and create and manage documentation. Collaborate with Operations, Process, Technical, and Safety teams to complete User Requirement Specifications (URS), CAPEX requests, Hazard Study Documentation, and Risk Assessments. Provide design input for manufacturability, process flow (factory layout), and sustainability when purchasing new equipment. Partner with external suppliers to source and select equipment, performing vendor bid analysis. Supervise and ensure safe installation of equipment, managing on-site contractors and supporting troubleshooting during installation and start-up to facilitate a smooth handover to operations. Ideal Candidate Profile: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent). Demonstrated success in managing Capital Projects. Familiarity with Hazard Studies and Risk Assessments; CAD and Microsoft Project experience is beneficial but not essential.
