Production Planner

As JDR's exciting expansion into Cambois, Blyth continues to gain momentum, we are excited to announce an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Planner.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Planner is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning and scheduling of all activities within the facility.
This individual will work closely with key stakeholders to develop strategic plans, establish timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure efficient operations and the timely completion of projects.

Main responsibilities:
Be responsible for converting customer orders into a production schedule and monitor the input of this data into the company ERP scheduling system on a daily/weekly basis.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including senior management and customers, to provide updates on operations and address any concerns.
This will Include advising the project teams and management of any slippages likely to affect planned completions in timely manner and take action to mitigate the impact.
Ensure the efficient utilisation of resources to optimise production output, which involves the supporting the sales & operations planning meeting to ensure alignment across the organisation.
Tracks key performance indicators to ensure that operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
Ensuring all production data is accurately maintained within the system, i.e.
manufacturing routings, run times, materials issued to jobs, work order dates etc.
Oversee inventory management and work with the supply chain function to ensure that products are available when needed to meet machine requirements.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the role holder is required to undertake such duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required from time to time.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar operational planning role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
To be successful in this role, the candidate will have comprehensive experience of MRP Visual and/or Primavera P6 system or equivalent.
Working with key stakeholders across various functions of the business, the candidate will also be an accomplished influencer with the ability to communicate at all levels.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to able to synthesise considerable and complex data.
A keen eye for detail is a necessity along with a high proficiency in Word, Excel & Other MS Office Applications.
To complement the above, an enthusiastic and confident approach to work, ready to challenge where necessary and be willing to put forward initiatives to secure continuous improvement is also highly desirable.
