We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our growing team.
Job Summary: The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating and optimising the production schedules, ensuring the timely and efficient manufacturing of automation components for data centres.
This role will involve working closely with various departments including procurement, engineering, and production, to ensure alignment on production timelines, material availability, and overall workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and manufacturing capacity.
Prioritise production jobs to meet delivery deadlines.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure availability without overstocking.
Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely ordering of materials.
Resource Allocation: Coordinate with the production team to ensure proper allocation of labour, equipment, and resources to meet production goals.
Adjust plans based on machine availability, workforce availability, and production requirements.
Forecasting & Planning: Work closely with the sales and engineering teams to understand customer demands and future requirements.
Generate accurate production forecasts to ensure optimal planning and resource utilisation.
Capacity Planning: Monitor production capacity and suggest improvements in processes to meet changing demand.
Identify potential production bottlenecks and propose solutions to ensure continuous workflow.
Process Optimization: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvements in production processes and efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain production reports, including progress updates, inventory status, and material shortages.
Provide analysis of production performance and offer recommendations for improvement.
Problem Solving: Address any issues related to production delays, shortages, or equipment failures by working cross-functionally to find quick and effective solutions.
Compliance & Quality: Ensure production schedules adhere to all quality standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Qualifications: Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Experience in production planning or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and capacity planning.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
and advanced knowledge of Excel or similar planning tools.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills: Experience in manufacturing automation components, electrical engineering, or data centre technologies is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with production scheduling software and data analytics tools.
