Job Title: People Systems Product Owner

Contract: Full time, permanent 35 hours per week
We are looking to recruit a Product Owner who will play a pivotal role in managing the People Systems ecosystem, providing strategic infrastructure to People and Culture and the wider organization. This role is key in shaping the current and future People Systems roadmap, particularly the HRIS solution, Workday.
This newly created role is pivotal to the People Strategy to provide the strategic infrastructure, transformation in terms of new functionality and enhancing to maximise self-service.

About the role The Product Owner is responsible for creating and managing a clear product backlog with detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and estimated effort for each item.
You will curate and prioritise the backlog according to the People Strategy, supporting agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. The role involves engaging with stakeholders to gather insights, monitoring and reporting on performance, and collaborating with suppliers and experts to establish appropriate solutions for People Systems. Additionally, the Product Owner manages stakeholder relationships, supports implementation of new functionality through development of user stories and defining requirements, and acts as the primary contact during implementation and hyper care.
Responsible for monitoring project progress, managing product defects and enhancements, and staying updated on industry trends to identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.
About you We are seeking an individual who is resilient and focused, with the ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic environment. You should possess excellent leadership skills, with the capability to work well individually, as part of a team, and in leading teams. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to interpret and infer customer requirements.
You must demonstrate a deep knowledge of Workday functionality and structure to enable solutions to be created and be ideally proficient in Jira, Confluence, and Trello. Experience in agile methodologies and project management is also key to success in this role, with a proven track record of successful partnership working. Creativity and problem-solving skills are crucial, as well as the ability to negotiate and influence decision-makers.
The ideal candidate will be curious, innovative, and have a strong commercial and market awareness. We are looking for someone who is collaborative, considerate, and supportive of colleagues. They should be decisive and clear in their decision-making, with the confidence to lead with others.
