This is a newly created role leading a team of 11 (3 direct reports, total team of 8 in central procurement, 2 in the central procurement data team and 1 leading compliance and quality) to support the Head of Procurement in the delivery of a first class procurement function.
Despite this being a private sector organisation offering a range of procurement frameworks and consultancy services, the majority of your customers will be in the public sector, and with the upcoming public sector procurement reform you'll have the chance to shape and mould processes, procedures and the development of the customer portal to allow customers to better manage their spend.
The central procurement team create and manage the frameworks for a wide range of categories, with the majority currently being on indirect areas such as office supplies, print, stationary, vehicles, anything that is needed from a back office/services perspective to run a business - mostly higher volume, lower value items.
This is a relatively new team, either new to the business or recently stepped up into their roles, and is performing well, so leadership, motivation and support are going to be key to helping them develop further into a high performing team with a stronger focus on maximising the commercial position of the business whilst also offering great value to the customers.
The central procurement data team analyse hundreds of thousands of pieces of data a month to create value opportunities for the customer - you'll be working closely with these analysts and the wider business to look for insights, create learnings for the customer and identify opportunities to commercialise the data and drive value across the board.
You'll also work with the Head of Procurement compliance and quality to ensure any legislation changes, reform or other legal matters are correctly managed and reflected in processes and polices.

What do you need to bring to the party?
