Private Client Tax Associate Director

Details of the offer

Our trusted team of just over 30 people, including 4 Partners, work with individuals on some of the biggest financial decisions that they may face.
The core of our work focuses on "mapping" the assets of an individual, family or business, and assessing the opportunities available to them, minimising their tax liability.

Many of our clients use Buzzacott for other services, providing the opportunity to work closely and build relationships with colleagues in other teams around the firm and within our PrimeGlobal association.

We are looking for an Associate Director to assist and support the Private Client Partners in the development and operation of the Private Client advisory and compliance offering.
In addition, this role will have a key involvement in the development and growth of tax services within the Private Client sector, whilst supporting the wider team from a technical and professional development standpoint.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Private Client Specialist to progress to Partner in this fast-growing and talented team.

Key aspects of the role include: Manage a portfolio of high net worth personal, trust and estate clients in relation to their UK tax reporting requirements, as well as review and sign off tax comps and returns and any relevant reporting requirements.
Budget and plan all tax compliance work for clients in the portfolio and be responsible for the timely delivery of such work and for the recoverability and billing on such jobs.
Provide technical assistance to queries received from other Buzzacott teams as well as a technical and quality review of relevant Private Client team's output.
Carry out and assist with UK tax planning, including tax payment forecasting and ad-hoc projects.
Deal with client queries and identify potential issues, all whilst ensuring other non-private client tax implications are considered.
Proactively market the Firm's Private Client function and expertise, both internally and externally, through the production of technical updates, presentation at internal team meetings and external seminars and training courses, also ensuring existing networks are maintained whilst developing new ones.
Provide input into Buzzacott's marketing publications and events as required.
Recognise and act upon opportunities for cross selling of services and adding value and identify opportunities for selling consultancy services to compliance clients.
Give regular and constructive feedback to Private Client Team members in order to contribute to their personal and professional development.
Along with providing technical support, you will be expected to mentor and coach Private Client Team members, to ensure their professional and technical development.
You are the right person for the role if you are: CTA qualified.
Have full knowledge of UK tax matters relating to private clients and professional practices.
Excellent networking capability and keen interest in developing junior team members' networking skills.
Experienced in advising HNW and UHNW individuals.
Able to recognise cross selling opportunities.
Willing and able to train other team members and develop them professionally and technically.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an established, but also growing specialist team, who have an excellent name in the private client market, offering the potential to become Partner.
