Main duties of the job The post holder will be an experienced nurse, who actingwithin their professional boundaries, will provide high quality care forpatients.
The role includes the typical practice nurse duties including: diabetic & respiratory care (asthma & COPD), smears,immunisation, contraception, health reviews, etc.The individual will provide nursing service/treatments topatients independently or in participation with general practitioners workingwithin the boundaries of the NMC Code of Conduct to agreed practice standardsand protocols.

This includes cooperating in undertaking the work of absentcolleagues or assisting others where the workload is particularly high.Accordingly, there may be a requirement, from time to time, to undertake otherduties.Job ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for managing clinics and carrying outassociated tasks including the following: Cervical cytology, wound care,removal of sutures, travel vaccinations, ECGs, peak flow readings, spirometry, venepuncture,management of long term conditions, routine, travel and childhood immunisations,contraceptive advice, chaperoning patients who are being examined by anotherclinician, urine testing, dietary advice, administration of prescribedinjectable therapies, anaphylaxis and CPR.Administer child and adult immunisations and vaccinations inaccordance with national and local programmes.
Be competent in anaphylaxis andresuscitation techniques.
