Pr Account Manager

Details of the offer

We're on the hunt for an experienced PR account manager to join our teamkeep reading if you think that could be you (or if you just, you know, like reading then feel free to carry on too, obvs) .
Increase your chances of an interview by reading the following overview of this role before making an application.
To outline a few key requirements we'd be looking for, we're keen to speak to someone who's well organised, personable and creative – three key traits.
On top of that, you'll need to be able to write.
Writing is a big part of PR – we're not all air kisses and questionably authentic compliments – so we're looking for a serious literary talent.
Or at least a fairly decent one.
Let's look at experience first.
Whether you're a slightly grizzled senior account executive with a couple of PR years under your belt, an old industry hat who's done the agency rounds, or a Londoner, who's tired of London but not tired of life, then we'd love to hear from you.
DISPENSING WITH THE PREAMBLE, WHAT ARE THE BASIC DAY-TO-DAY TASKS?
WELL, THESE COULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING : Drafting and distributing press releases and expert articles (pretty standard; as a PR, you're pretty much 'expert' in all manner of things).
Swiftly creating engaging commentary in light of breaking news or events.
Building relationships with media, including creating relevant lists and carrying out comprehensive media 'sell-ins' via phone and email.
PRs are generally a talkative bunch so the gift of the gab is a useful forte.
Liaising with journalists and clients re: potential media opportunities.
This is where there might be some air kissing.
Using and managing the agency's PR software.
Organising media competitions, press stays, and setting up briefing opportunities (more air kissing).
Delegating tasks to junior members within your pod team (we work in groups of four, with each pod having their own clients to manage) and supporting/assisting them with their progression.
Assisting in turning press assets into content for web copy and social posts.
Weekly and monthly reporting.
Some would call this evidence of hard work.
Assisting in the delivery of strategies and campaigns for clients.
Bringing in new ideas to improve our way of working.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE : Excellent written ability – it really is that central.
Interest in and curiosity about our core sectors, particularly hospitality and care – but we're happy to hear of any valid experience.
A creative thinker.
We love a good PR stunt at Pic PR, and if you've got ideas a plenty, you'll fit right in.
A genuine love for PR.
It's always good to actually like what you do.
Polished and professional appearance.
We don't mean spit shine shoes here, but we do mean that you'd ideally brush your teeth before work and have the odd wash. Good presentation skills.
This isn't a reference to a PowerPoint wizard, so think presentation in general.
Ability to work well in a team.
No lone wolves, please.
Calmness under pressure and ability to achieve tight deadlines.
Running around yelling 'Keep calm, Captain Mainwaring' in a crisis, just puts the rest of the team on edge.
A real appetite for digital comms.
Digital: it's the future.
We've tasted it.
Positive attitude.
Whilst we love a bit of self-deprecation, please, no misery guts; we're an upbeat bunch Fun and friendly demeanour rolls eyes in fun and friendly way.
Finally, a good sense of humour.
Yeah, we're dead funny.
So, you'd better be too.
