Job summary Do you have an interest in caring for adults with Lung defence (Bronchiectasis, Immunology and Interstitial Lung Disease)?Do you have experience working in Respiratory Medicine?Do you want to advance your specialist knowledge in bronchiectasis and experience working across both in and out-patient settings?Do you want to be part of an expanding service and multi-disciplinary team?This 12-month, fixed term post is an excellent opportunity to act as lead clinician and highly specialist lung defence team lead.
You will ensure a high-quality Physiotherapy service provision to in-patient and out-patient respiratory medical patients within the Trust.
With support from the Physiotherapy Service Lead and Band 6 Deputy Team Leader, the post-holder will have direct responsibility for co-ordination, provision and development of the Lung Defence service.
The post holder will report to the Physiotherapy Service Lead.This role provides the individual with a fantastic opportunity to work with key stakeholders and the wider Cambridge Centre for Lung Infection MDT to advance the service provided and coordinate high quality patient care.The individual will work collaboratively with the Physiotherapy Service Lead and Team Leads in Cystic Fibrosis, and the Respiratory Sleep and Support Centre to ensure cohesive service provision across respiratory medicine.
Main duties of the job This post offers the opportunity to continue development of both clinical, leadership and people management skills in this specialist area.
Within this role, the post holder will engage in audit and research and support colleagues with their own service improvement work.
There are opportunities to gain experience in specialist Physiotherapy groups and engage in further post-holder will act as Team Lead Physiotherapy clinician in a highly specialised area of Lung Defence, to ensure provision of a safe and evidenced based physiotherapy service to patients within the Trust.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential BSc/ Pre- Reg MSc/ Grad.
Dip.
in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration HCPC registration.
Active participation and engagement within specialist interest group.
Desirable Post-Graduate MSc / MSc level education relevant to role CSP member.
Experience Essential Clinical Pillar Specialist Band 6 Physiotherapy knowledge and experience in physiotherapeutic management of cardiorespiratory conditions (including Bronchiectasis, ILD, and other respiratory conditions and rehabilitation; in inpatient and out patient settings.
Ability to work independently and prioritise own and teams workload and delegate effectively to others.
Leadership Pillar Experience of leading/supervising a team.
Experience of mentoring and clinical supervision of junior staff and students, and developing others.
Ability to lead the team with whilst being a team player Evidence of excellent communication skills, including verbal, non verbal and written, in difficult and challenging situations Ability to work under pressure whilst leading the team, with an awareness of the wider services in a calm and professional manner.
Ability to problem solve and make complex clinical and non-clinical decisions and support the team to also do so Ability to lead, support and provide service wide management in service leads absence.
Education pillar Engagement in post-graduate education; including attending, presenting and organising relevant courses, study days and conferences.
Experience in practical and theoretical student training Experience in education and advocacy of physiotherapy across the multi-professional team Research Pillar Experience in team and department audit / service improvement/ research projects Utilisation of current evidence base to influence own and others clinical practice.
Working knowledge of NHS and AHP priorities and initiatives Desirable Leadership pillar Advanced management and leadership training, including dealing with performance, capability and sickness issues.
