Payroll Officer

We are looking for a Payroll Officer to join our clients accountancy team where you will be managing monthly payroll, handling starters, leavers, and salary changes, processing tax, NI, and pension payments, and reconciling payroll accounts. You'll provide support on pay and benefits, ensure GDPR compliance, liaise with external providers, and assist with year-end payroll tasks.
Client Details Our client is a well-established, independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Eastleigh. They offer a comprehensive range of services, including accounting, taxation, and business consultancy, tailored to meet the needs of owner-managed businesses across various sectors. The firm is known for its proactive approach, depth of resources, and commitment to building strong personal relationships with clients.
Description For the role of Payroll Officer, the key responsibilities are as follows:
Process accurate and timely payroll Reconcile payroll and pension control accounts, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Prepare and submit tax, National Insurance, and other statutory deductions to HMRC. Manage employee benefits, including processing pension payments and liaising with providers. Assist with year-end payroll tasks. Provide advice and support on payroll-related queries. Ensure GDPR compliance. Handle absence compliance, including sickness, holiday, and parental leave records. Support the creation of detailed payroll reports. Archive and file payroll documentation as required. Profile To be the successful candidate for Payroll Officer, you will have some experience with the above responsibilities.
Job Offer Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
