Job summary To provide visible, credible professional clinical leadership, supporting the clinical management of children with mental health conditions and eating disorders who have been admitted on to the inpatient ward.
Support effective liaison with CAMHS and Eating Disorder teams as required for the CYP fit for immediate discharge from ED and provide effective safety netting advice.Improve the quality of care for children and young people experiencing mental problems whilst they are being cared for at their support the integration of mental health care with physical health care.
To provide effective liaison between the local medical, CAMHS and Eating Disorder teams.
To support the Ward Manger with clinical and managerial responsibility for the clinical area.

Person Specification RN qualification Essential Registered Nurse or Registered Childrens Nurse or Registered Mental health or Learning Disabilities Nurse with paediatric/adolescent experience in mental health or Equivalent Qualification Desirable Experience in Eating Disorders, ASD / challenging Behaviours or Mental health Crisis experience.
Knowledge Essential Ability to independently develop and implement safety plans collaboratively with other agencies Desirable Management of complex behavioural issues and eatting disorders communication Essential You are able to communicate effectively with them and with other staff to ensure that their care, treatment and support are not compromised Desirable Ability to motivate and lead others personal and people Essential Ability to make decisions confidently within limits of own responsibility Ability to provide cross cover where required
