Job summary A exciting opportunity has arisen due to current postholder maternity leave, for an enthusiastic, hardworking dietitian with experience in in paediatrics to join the University Hospital of North Midlands Trust's Paediatric Team.
The post holder will primarily provide outpatient clinics for direct access from local GPs in North Staffordshire and Stoke following the referral criteria and as such is a community based role.
The post holder will be part of a team that deliver a range of dietetic clinical duties in paediatrics in acute settings, consultant and GP care settings and patient's own homes.
There is an opportunity to gain some training and experience in specialist areas and provide some cover.
We are a friendly, supportive trust-wide team providing a comprehensive Paediatric dietetic service.
There are currently 12 members of the team, including other Band 6 posts that currently rotate within various specialities and we are supported by our dietetic assistant.
Experience in general paediatrics is essential.
We will value your ability to use your initiative and you will have a flexible approach, excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work independently, liaising effectively with a wide range of staff and patients and the public.
We would be open to consideration of an agile / remote working arrangement.
There would be an expectation to attend UHNM sites for induction, essential face to face mandatory training as required Main duties of the job The post holder will provide specialist dietetic advice to outpatients referred directly by the GP according to existing referral criteria.
As this is a new post, you will be required to build on the existing service and develop accessible clinics to meet the needs of the GPs and community teams.
The post-holder will also have the opportunity to conduct audits, provide training to patients, carers and other community staff, and contribute to service development.

Demonstrate empathy, sensitivity and tact with patients and their families
