Join us on our journey to net zero and help us power change.About the RoleBase Location: PerthWhile this role is based at the OT Security Test Centre in Perth there may be opportunities to travel to other SSEN Transmission sites for testing and research purposes.Salary: £46,626- £60,730 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | options availableThe SSEN Transmission Operational Technology (OT) Security Test Centre is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of our Transmission OT equipment and systems.
We're looking for a talented OT Testing Engineer to be at the heart of this mission.Why This Role: Hands-On Experience: You'll be directly involved in testing and securing our operational technology systems, developing robust configurations and processes to safeguard our infrastructure.

Networking Opportunities: Attend ICS/Cybersecurity conferences throughout the year to expand your knowledge and connect with industry leaders.
Key responsibilities for this role will include: Security Assessments: Conduct thorough security evaluations of OT devices and create strong hardening configurations and processes.
Compliance Assurance: Ensure our systems meet security standards and verify vendor compliance with OT security protocols.
Project Execution: Efficiently and effectively complete project tasks.
Process Improvement: Develop and enhance security processes and procedures, recommending improvements to existing practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with wider OT and Field engineering teams to support research and testing for both existing and new devices and systems.
What do I need?To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: Experience: A background in OT/IT cybersecurity.
Qualifications: Minimum HND in a relevant engineering or computing discipline, ideally with a professional security management certification (preferably OT-focused, such as GICSP).
Knowledge: Deep understanding of the differences between OT and IT, and the unique challenges of securing a substation OT environment.
Technical Skills: Robust knowledge of network protocols and the security characteristics of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Mindset: An inquisitive mind with a passion for continuous learning and problem-solving.
We are recruiting heavily within our team and would welcome candidates with multiple levels of experience to apply.Candidates for this role will be required to obtain vetting to SC level through UK Government.
