With specialist facilities and a focus on promoting independence, we support each of our young people through the transition from education into adulthood with a focus on person-centred programmes to promote independence.We work with people with multiple disabilities who may have sensory and physical impairments who benefit from our specialist facilities that have been designed to meet their needs.Find out more about the amazing work we do - The Role:Provide the highest level of care for our young adultsAssist with getting them ready for bed which includes washing and changingEncouraging a healthy sleeping pattern where possibleChecking on them all throughout the night and dealing with any incidents that may occurEnsuring that medical needs are met at all timesThis is a waking night position; so in the quiet periods you will also be expected to get involved in some light housekeeping duties (such as loading the dishwasher, laundry and keeping the environment tidy).In the morning you'll then assist with supporting our young adults to get up, washed and dressed, ready for the day.The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our young adults to become more autonomous.Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
Please see the link below for our full job description: Skills and Qualifications Although no experience is required, we are looking for candidates to demonstrate:Willingness to learn and to go the extra mileAbility to guide and encourage supportive independence when possibleExceptional communication skills and patienceResilient with a robust and positive natureAbility to be creative in meeting the needs of the young adults.Must be able to complete 2 weeks full time induction (Monday to Friday 9am - 5.pm) plus 2-3 weeks shadowing on days shifts before starting night shifts Ability to work on a rota pattern which will include working every other weekendIt is a tough yet totally rewarding role.
