NFC Alternative Education is a part of New Forest Care Education.
Our Alternative Education Provision (OLC-AE) works alongside our OFSTED-rated Outstanding Independent Special School (850/6089), based near Romsey, Hampshire.
The OLC-AE provision specialises in supporting children with specific educational needs from KS2 to KS4.
We offer a variety of indoor and outdoor activity options to encourage young people to engage in structured sessions.
All learning is built on a well-planned core curriculum that develops and reinforces core subject knowledge through outdoor learning and individually planned timetables.
We provide an adapted curriculum designed to rebuild positive associations with education and support those with specific educational needs to access a broad curriculum tailored to their needs.
These sessions embed individualised academic and social learning objectives in a way that motivates and inspires young people.
We are seeking a tutor who can use a wide range of engagement strategies and approaches to help young people engage with education.
The post holder will support qualified teachers in leading core subject lessons, delivering outdoor education lessons, and running independent progressive lessons that support the needs of the young person's education plan.

Core Requirements of the Post
Qualificationsand Training
Essential
Level 2 Awards (GCSE or Functional Skills) in Maths and English.
Experience working in a classroom environment with young people who have Specific Educational Needs.
A willingness to work towards Outdoor Education qualifications.
Desirable
Forest School/Bushcraft Experience.
Outdoor Activity Leadership Qualifications.
Level 3 Tutoring Award.
Experience
The ability to plan and deliver progressive sessions to meet and support different learning outcomes.
Skills and Knowledge
Understanding of high-quality teaching based on evidence.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Competent and confident in using office IT systems.
A standard of written English sufficient to communicate with colleagues and provide credible written reports.
