Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Maternity Day Assessment Unit (MDAU).
We are seeking to recruit experienced midwives to provide specialist expertise to women and birthing individuals in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, delivering high quality, evidenced based care to women and birthing individuals and acting as an advocate for them within MDAU.Attached you will find the person specification document which provides more detail about the essential and desirable skills and experience needed for this role.

Job description Job responsibilities MDAU is a fast-paced environment staffed by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated midwives who show commitment to prioritising care whilst working in partnership with women and the wider multi-disciplinary team.The Maternity Service aims to offer a multitude of possibilities for career progression and professional development for band 6 midwives who wish to expand their knowledge, experience and skills.
The service recognises that band 6 midwives are our future aspiring leaders and specialist practitioners and therefore we look to ensure that you receive appropriate training, education and supportive responsibility within the clinical setting to help you achieve your career development.We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and flexible individuals who have a passion for midwifery.
The successful candidates will have relevant clinical experience as a midwife, be able to evidence professional integrity and an honest approach to embracing new and exciting opportunities and challenges that will be obtainable as they become part of the Maternity Day Assessment Unit team.The successful candidates will play an active role in the day-to-day running of MDAU which has fully implemented the BSOTs triage system.
Being able to prioritise and time mange the workload in this fast paced environment is essential.
You will be required to exhibit excellent communication skills and an ability to develop sound working relationships with women and birthing individuals and colleagues within and external to the Trust.Full flexibility will be required in a working roster period which will include all shift patterns, weekends and public holidays, as well as a contribution to an on-call rota.
