Job summary We are looking to welcome a medical receptionist into Lister Medical Centre.
In this essential role at the practice, you need to be able to be focussed and experienced to support and advice the reception team to support the smooth running of front of house reception.
The hours are 30 per week Monday to Friday covering 2 shift patterns alternating.
Week 1 - to Week 2 - 1pm to 7pm Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional/alternative hours to cover for colleagues.We are looking for a medical receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community.

Main duties of the job The receptionist plays a pivotal role in the experience of patients at our practice,helping them to access the right services and dealing with their queries face-to-face, online and by telephone.
About us We are a friendly, supportive, democratic, well organised and enthusiastic GMS practice, dedicated to providing traditional family orientated general practice based at a new purpose built single site health centre in Harlow.
We currently have approximately 20,000 patients, 5 partners, 3 salaried GPs, a large nursing support team and a vast array of administrative staff.
We are a training practice and also a teaching practice for Cambridge students; we are also a research practice.
We have consistent high achievement in all QOF and Enhanced Services areas with an innovative team structure with individual patient lists (around 2,500 per FTE GP).
We operate the SystmOne computer system.
We are active members of local GP federation and ICB.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Good standard of general education with a minimum GCSE Grade C in English and Maths, or equivalent.
Experience Essential Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner; Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times; Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations; Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet"; Strong IT and administration skills.
Experience of patient and customer facing roles.
