Job summary Medical Laboratory Assistant per week covering a 24hr/7 day shift pattern.We are looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to work within our Infection Sciences Department.
at the Royal Stoke University Hospital site.
The post holder will be required to perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks within Pathology following Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including the Pathology Quality Policy, to provide clerical and technical support to Biomedical Scientists in order to ensure a high quality service in all areas of the relevant Pathology Discipline.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Essential criteria Maximum score 4 Good standard of Education demonstrated by GCSE grades A-C in Maths, English and a Science subject.
Relevant NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
A suitable Apprenticeship such as Clinical Laboratory Support.
The IBMS Certificate of Achievement.
Desirable NVQ level 3 in Clinical Laboratory Support.
Knowledge, Skills, Training, Experience Essential Intermediate and accurate IT skills.
Good manual dexterity skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Desirable Previous experience of working in a Laboratory environment.
Experience of working within the NHS.
Personal qualities Essential Personal Qualities Essential criteria Maximum score 4 Prepared to work flexibly including participating in weekend and other out of hours rotas as necessary.
