Role Description We're looking for an energetic, organised, and personable Market Manager to join our team within KERB+, a purpose-driven, not-for-profit business operating at the heart of the KERB Ecosystem.
We run a membership scheme, deliver inclusive incubation and acceleration programs for independent food businesses, and support those who need it most in finding employment in hospitality.
As the KERB Market Manager, you'll be the on-the-ground coordinator, overseeing the daily operations of KERB's bustling markets and contributing to the wider mission of KERB+.
You'll work closely with our food vendors, ensuring each event runs smoothly, safely, and vibrantly.
You'll have a strong eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a knack for building strong relationships with vendors and customers alike.
The successful candidate will oversee a team of freelance market managers across five sites, each running at least six lunchtime markets per week.
You'll also collaborate with the food team to foster the growth and development of our existing traders.
This role is perfect for someone with top-notch organisational skills who's just as comfortable enjoying great food as they are facilitating its success operationally—both on-site at markets and through effective communication and tech tools.
Responsibilities Onsite physical management of one (minimum) market one day per week.
This includes ensuring smooth operations, from setting up and breaking down the market to overseeing vendor logistics and maintaining high standards for safety, cleanliness, and overall market ambiance.
Serve as the primary contact for vendors, addressing any immediate needs or issues that arise during the day and coordinating closely with freelance market managers to ensure a cohesive experience.
Maintaining good relationships with landowners and site management teams at KERB markets.
Manage a team of freelance lunchtime market managers to ensure top-class cover for all markets.
Manage the rota for lunchtime markets for all members ensuring optimum take up for all markets and great communication with all members.
