Job Title : Managing Consultant Location : Scotland (Flexible/Remote Options) Sector : Construction Consultancy Salary: 70-80k About the Opportunity We are seeking a driven and experienced Managing Consultant to join our expanding team in Scotland.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to ambitious growth targets while delivering exceptional outcomes for key construction clients.
You will play a critical role in developing and implementing procurement and commercial strategies, supporting projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities Ensure projects stay on budget, tracking commercial activities throughout the lifecycle.
Develop a comprehensive Construction Handbook , embedding best practices into client policies.
Lead Value Engineering and Life Cycle Costing initiatives.
Oversee risk management, maintaining and updating the Risk Register .
Support pre-contract and procurement strategies, contributing to reports and attending key client meetings.
Advise design teams on cost implications and implement outcomes effectively.
Assist in development appraisals, conducting measurements and researching pricing.
About You Experience : 5–10 years as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with consultancy experience or equivalent expertise.
Skills : Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Knowledge : Familiarity with construction technologies, trends (e.g., sustainability), and cost management.
Mindset : Team-oriented, proactive, and detail-focused, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Education : Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Quantity Surveying).
