Scotland continues to face significant challenges relating to drug and alcohol harms.
Reducing drug and alcohol related harms, including reducing the number of deaths, is an important health priority and Scottish Government commitment.
The Scottish Government's to reduce drug and alcohol related deaths and harms, aims to save and improve lives through:Fast and appropriate access to treatment and support through all services.Improved frontline drugs services (including third sector).Services in place and working together to react immediately and maintain support for as long as needed.Increased capacity in and use of residential rehabilitation.A more joined-up approach across policies to address underlying issues.Two of the mission's key focus areas are: Implementation of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards – making support consistent, flexible, effective and faster.Expansion of capacity in, and use of, Residential Rehabilitation – ensuring this is available for everyone who wants it.RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Improvement Advisor to join the Community Engagement and Transformational Change Directorate of Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual to assist in the scoping, design and delivery of relevant programmes.
Individuals should be educated to degree level and either hold a master's degree in a relevant subject or equivalent knowledge and have significant experience in improving services in health and social care.Working as part of the Transformational Change in Drugs, Alcohol & Housing Portfolio, this role will support improvements to the way that people who use alcohol and or drugs are supported in Scotland.
The portfolio has a particular focus on supporting the implementation of the Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards and improvement of pathways into, through and out of Residential Rehabilitation: the successful candidate will support one of these programmes.
