We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our client's team in Dalton.
This role is ideal for a Maintenance Technician with an electrical bias with relevant mechanical experience.
The role would be reporing to to the Maintenance Supervisor, the purpose of the role is to maintain reliable operation of the plant.
Shift Pattern: 45hrs a week, any other hours are classed as overtime Mon Tues Weds Thurs Fri Earlys Lates The work involves a range of preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance as required.
In addition it is required to be proactive in driving improvements in maintenance methods and techniques in keeping with known standards of quality, safety and hygience.
Diagnostic trouble shooting and problem analysis are essential skills.
The role works closely with the production team so the role requires good communication skils to ensure that daily goals are achieved.
In addition to this the role entails ensuring that the equipment are set optimally and that the IT interfaces are functional.
Furthermore, there will be a requirement to assist the engineering manager in supervision of external contractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform full range of plant maintenance tasks and repairs on a proactive/planned and reactive basis.
• Use predictive maintenance techniques such as thermo-graphic imaging and vibration analysis as well as experience, skill and judgement to make regular assessments of the plant condition • Implement equipment reliability improvements and develop new maintenance work-flow methods and techniques.
• Process optimisation to ensure maximum efficiency • Employ Preventive/Predictive maintenance techniques to achieve benchmark plant reliability • Ensure availability of critical spares • Manage own work flows to remain within maintenance budget • Oversee projects when required • Ensure adherence to safe system of work, PPE permits, risk assessment etc Minimum Required Experience/ Qualifications • Thorough understanding of EHS and a safety culture • Post apprenticeship experience.
• Electro-Mechanical fault finding/repairs to PLC controlled plant.
Includes pneumatic and hydraulics.
• Interacts with vendors to complete day-to-day tasks.
• Familiar with safe system of work (Permit to Work systems).
• Carrying out Preventative maintenance tasks.
• Some working at heights will be required.
• Ability to develop and conduct training for operators.
• Ability to organize, coordinate and accomplish multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, able to provide detailed shift reports.
• Experience of working as part of a maintenance team on a manufacturing site.
• Demonstrated effective systematic problem-solving skills.
• Must have a high drive and energy level, can-do attitude, and excellent attention to detail.
• Treat people with dignity and respect.
• Able to work autonomously and react quickly in high pressure situation.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently.
• Be flexible, adjust shifts to cover other engineers' holiday.
• Prepared to participate in training and development.
• Ensure all planned and routine maintenance are carried out and documented on the CMMS.
