Main duties of the job As a LungCancer Screening Administrator, you will work collaboratively to facilitate thesmooth running of the patient pathway and will ensure a coordinated andstreamlined administrative process that revolves around the patient and theirindividual needs.
A key aspect of the role is arranging appointments forpatients to be assessed by a specialist nurse for a Lung Health Check, to seeif they require a CT scan, and booking CT scan appointments.
This requiresexcellent communication skills, with a degree of sensitively, empathy andsensitivity.
The post holder will liaise with hospital departments, GPsurgeries and external colleagues.

Job description Job responsibilities The Lung CancerScreening Administrator will be responsible for providing clerical andadministrative support for the screening programme.
Working as part of amulti-disciplinary team, you will issue invitations adhering to programmedeadlines, be a direct point of contact for patients, including telephone calls,schedule appointments, and provide the nursing staff with administrativesupport to ensure onward referrals / outcomes are issued in line with keyperformance indicators.
The role will require a flexible approach, and thecandidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering totight deadlines.Main DutiesBethe first point of contact for participants wishing to engage in the programme.Usethe dedicated Patient Admission System (PAS) to book appointments and recordinformation as required.Effectivelyprocess and accept referrals for participants wishing to partake in the programme.Recordtelephone contacts and administrative templates in the PAS in line with serviceguidelines.Useappropriate methods of communication to build confidence and credibility of theservice with representatives from external agencies and organisations.Providekey information, advice, and guidance to participants.Undertakeadministrative duties in line with the participant administration pathway.
Maintainconfidentiality in respect of all patient and staff information in line withData Protection Act.Tobe patient focused when representing the service; ensuring that all patients aregiven welcoming, supportive, and helpful.Dealwith all calls, enquiries and messages in a professional manner, relayingmessages to the wider team and taking appropriate action.Manageand prioritise own workload.
